Diagnosis

Antennal scrobes join below frontal suture; mesoscutum with engraved and weak reticulation; scutellum with engraved and very weak reticulation; mesoscutum black with metallic blue tinges, scutellum metallic dark purple; propodeal callus 3-5 setae; femora dark metallic bluish-green; tibiae yellowish-white. Very similar to nigrocyaneus, the only difference is the comparatively longer flagellum in texanus (1.7X as long as scape, 1.4X in nigrocyaneus).

Biology

Mayetiola destructor (Say) (Diptera: Cecidomyiidae), Meromyza americana Fitch (Diptera: Chloropidae), Eumetopiella rufipes (Macquart) (Diptera: Otitidae), from pupa of Dasiops sp. (Diptera: Lonchaeidae) on Eriocereus sp. (Cactaceae). This species appears to be a specialist on various Diptera groups.
